Activities

We care about the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our residents. Our staff members spend time with every resident daily and encourage them to engage in gentle exercise and stimulating activities to promote good health, circulation and a sense of wellbeing. We provide a varied activity plan throughout the week for our residents’ enjoyment. The daily schedule includes both individual and group activities.

George Brooker House Garden Party

The staff and volunteers organise a number of day trips and outings throughout the year. Special in-house entertainment and events are organised regularly. We also celebrate residents’ birthdays with freshly made cakes from the kitchen, and themed menus mark other important calendar events.

Volunteers

We welcome family, friends and volunteers involvement in our activities programme and our outings. We would love to hear from any willing volunteers who can give their time to make a positive difference to our residents’ daily lives. Whether sharing skills, lending a hand, fundraising or simply being there to chat with residents, giving your time can make a real difference. Any practical help or ideas for events are always appreciated. Please contact our activities team here.

Please note: For our residents’ safety and security, all volunteers are subject to a necessary DBS check. The East London Extra Care Society meets the associated cost of this.
